Our Main Lodge is where everyone gathers, and you’re welcome to join us any time of day. We have limited Wi-Fi for checking in, as well as a gift shop for sundries you may have forgotten like sunscreen or a souvenir t-shirt. You can also pick up craft items from local villages to bring a little bit of Belize back home when you depart.Whether you want to bring your family to explore our tropical paradise and local culture or enjoy a memorable romantic getaway under the canopy of trees by day and a starry sky after dark, we have the perfect cabana for your visit. When we say our all-inclusive package includes farm-to-table dining, that means you can visit the on-site organic farm during your stay! A majority of the delicious meals prepared at our restaurant on-site are sourced from within walking distance of Cotton Tree Lodge — ten miles or less. We’re part of our community here, and we’re dedicated to supporting that community.We raise chickens and goats on property for eggs, meat, and dairy. We also harvest fruit such as mango, papaya, soursop, star fruit, and more from our own trees, and venture into the jungle to find hearts of palm and other edible delicacies to add to our menu. The fish on your plate likely came out of the river in your sight. Our food is about as fresh and locally grown as it gets, and you’ll be able to taste the difference.

Guests enjoying our all-inclusive package are welcome to join us for three fresh, homemade meals a day, as well as an appetizer at the bar before dinner. Nearly any dietary requirement or restriction can be accommodated with some advance notice, so be sure to let us know what you require for your stay.

Breakfast is served buffet style and includes fresh tropical fruits and juices from trees right outside the door, eggs and breakfast meats, newly baked bread, pancakes, and, of course, coffee and tea to start your day.

Lunches at the Lodge often include traditional dishes such as rice and beans, or stewed chicken, prepared by our chef based on the best ingredients available that day.

Dinner is a four-course delight beginning with soup and salad and ending with dessert. A fixed menu is chosen and prepared daily. Order local beer or wine with dinner — or ask our staff what they recommend!

Or spend time in the jungle surrounding the Lodge with Armando, who will teach you skills for survival, such as building shelter and finding water and food. Try your hand at Creole drumming with an internationally recognized expert drummer, then join him and his family to prepare and share a meal.We encourage you to experience the culture of Belize and its Mayan roots off-site as well. Visit Punta Gorda for market day and a trip to the Garifuna Museum — or travel to the village of Big Falls to learn about traditional crafts, music, and food with a local family.

Visit a site that illuminates the bounty of the tropics at a spice farm where black pepper and vanilla are grown, or tour a local cacao farm to learn about the long history of chocolate in Belize, as well as how cacao beans are grown and harvested. Don’t worry; samples are included.

Maybe your idea of a great day in Belize includes jumping off of twenty-foot cliffs into a natural pool by a waterfall. You would, of course, be entirely correct! Spend the early morning fishing on the Moho River right outside the Lodge with a local guide as part of your all-inclusive package, or opt to spend the day fishing with a guide in the clear blue waters of the Caribbean for a reasonable upgrade. All-day fishing excursions include everything you need to land snapper, grouper, and more, including bait, tackle, fuel, and lunch.

The minute you set foot on the property at Cotton Tree Lodge, you’ll probably feel your pulse slow down. We’re five miles off the nearest road, so you’ll be surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the jungle. And that’s not all.
