With its coral reefs, picture-perfect weather, and mix of salt and freshwater, it’s no wonder Belize is a fisherman’s paradise. And if you’re serious about your sport, we know you don’t just want the best environment, but the best fishing resort in Belize, too. We’re glad you found us in your search for all-inclusive fishing resorts in Belize.
Want to know why our Caribbean fishing resort surpasses the competition? Read on to find out!
Our Fishing Lodge
Quaint. Idyllic. Remote. Words can’t do justice to our Belize fly fishing resort. The lodge itself is Mayan-style, made with local hardwoods and thatched roofs. We’re five miles deep in the jungle, so you don’t have to worry about that pesky interstate as a backdrop to your fishing trip. No, instead you’ll get to hear parrots and Howler monkeys, or smell the fragrant flowers, as you take a deep breath and cast your line.
Types of Fishing
There are many different ways to fish—fly-fishing, bait fishing, bait casting, and so on—but you may have already learned about these back in your home country. For that reason, we want to tell you more about the types of environments you can fish in here instead.
Typical fishing adventures for guests include:
- River Fishing
- Coastal Fishing
- Reef Fishing
- Deepwater Fishing
Curious about the type of fish you may encounter? Common catches include:
- Snook
- Barracuda
- Mackerel
- Snappers
- Jack Crevalle
- Grouper
New to fishing? Don’t worry! We offer both an early-morning Moho River fishing excursion and an off-site Caribbean fishing adventure, with local guides to give you lessons.
Elevate Your Adventure With an Experienced Guide
The Moho River is full of dynamic habitats supporting a wide range of fish; you may not even know where to start looking. But that’s where our in-house guides come in. These guides are well-informed on where to fish and what you’ll find there, and they’re happy to assist you and your fishing group throughout the excursion.
What’s more, not only can our guides help in identifying the best spots for your expedition but they also have a niche, expert knowledge of the types of fish you’ll encounter, what equipment to use, and how to set up the perfect cast.
What’s Included
As an all-inclusive fishing resort, we provide poles, bait, and more. We even offer a larger fishing package with a seven-night stay for two in our deluxe river cabana. One of the seven days will be for river fishing and another for ocean fishing. Daily tours, meals—and yes, even local beer and rum—are included, too.
What You Should Bring
We suggest you pack according to the weather and the Caribbean fishing seasons when you come to our resort. Belize averages a balmy 80 degrees Fahrenheit, but if you’re coming around June to November, we recommend packing for the rainy season. April and May tend to be warm, while December through February can get a little cool. The dry season is the best time to fish in Belize, but you’ll find our country an angler’s paradise all year round!
You may also be wondering, “what kind of fishing gear do I need for Belize?” After all, fly lines, reels, etc., don’t exactly fit well in suitcases. Bring what you can fit, but otherwise don’t worry. There are plenty of resources available for getting your hands on some good gear and accessories.
The Day Isn’t Over – Eat Up!
There’s nothing quite like fresh fish. Once your excursion is complete, our professional chefs are happy to cook the fish you catch. The spoils of your fishing adventure are waiting. Reach out today to learn more or go ahead and start the booking process.
We can’t wait to show you the Caribbean fishing experience of a lifetime!
