Driving Directions to Cotton Tree Lodge

From the airport access road, turn left onto the main road which is the Northern Highway.  Proceed through Ladyville and follow for about 5 miles and turn left to head towards Burrell Boom/Hattieville (the second major intersection where you can turn left).  Follow the highway for about 4 miles you'll pass the sign for Burrell Boom on the right but do not turn.  Continue on the Hattieville Road for about 7 miles (passing Hattieville Prison on your right) and turn right at the rotary onto the Western Highway.  Follow the Western Highway for about 35 miles (passing the Belize zoo on the way) and turn left at the sign for Belmopan. You will pass through the outskirts of Belmopan and at the roundabout (with the modern sculpture) follow onto the Hummingbird Highway for points south such as Dangriga.   Follow the Hummingbird Highway for about 50 miles (through beautiful mountains, pass the Blue Hole National Park, a great place for a swim) and turn right at the sign for points south such as Punta Gorda.  If you miss the turn you'll end up in the city of Dangriga in about 5 miles and can always turn around there.  Once you turn right, you will now be on the Southern Highway and the rest of the directions are below.

Coming from either Dangriga or the Hummingbird Highway, head south on the Southern Highway for about 85 miles and you will now be about 15 miles from Punta Gorda.  The road takes a sharp left here at a Shell gas station (locally know as The Dump) and you will continue on the Southern Highway (take the left and continue on the paved road) for another few miles.  Just after you pass over a small bridge (the Jacintoville Bridge) turn immediately to the right.  You will see a sign at the bus stop shelter for Cotton Tree Lodge and you may also see a sign indicating this is the Barranco Road heading towards the Temash Sarstoon National Park.  Take this right turn onto the Barranco Road.

From Punta Gorda.  We're located off the Southern Highway on the Barranco Road which is about 9 miles from Punta Gorda.  You will see a sign at the bus stop shelter for Cotton Tree Lodge and you may also see a sign indicating this is the Barranco Road heading towards the Temash Sarstoon National Park. The turnoff for the Barranco Road has a sign that reads Temash and Sarstoon National Park.  Take this left turn onto the Barranco Road.

Once on the Barranco Road

After about 2 miles the Barranco road bears to the right (follow to the right and stay on the Barranco Road) and after another 3 miles you'll come through San Felipe Village.  Just past the village will be an orange grove and a fenced off area for cattle with a small shelter.  Turn left at that road and follow one mile to CottonTree Lodge.

If you need to call, the phone at the lodge is 670-0557.  Note there is no cell reception once you leave the Southern Highway and the service on the highway is patchy.  In general, you will only get reliable signal within 5 miles of a major town such as Belize City, Belmopan, Dangriga, or Punta Gorda.
